Kylie Soanes has been behind the drum kit since the age of 11, growing up immersed in the sounds of the 60s and 70s classic rock era. Initially trained in jazz, she quickly found her true calling in the raw energy and power of rock ’n’ roll.

By just 14, Kylie was already making her mark on the Perth music scene, performing in various cover bands before stepping into the national spotlight with all-female Australian rock outfit The Sure-Fire Midnights (2005). Over a decade with the band saw her touring extensively across Australia and building a reputation as a dynamic and hard-hitting drummer.

Career highlights include performing at the Bon Scott Celebration Concert at Claremont Showgrounds (2007), sharing the stage with iconic acts such as Rose Tattoo and The Screaming Jets, helping raise funds for the Bon Scott statue in Fremantle, WA. She also performed at Cherry Rock Festival alongside Rose Tattoo, further cementing her presence in the Australian rock scene.

Driven to carve out her own musical path, Kylie founded the all-female original rock band Legs Electric in 2012. Since then, the band has captivated both national and international audiences, sharing stages with an impressive lineup of rock heavyweights including KISS, The Southern River Band, Everclear, Wolfmother, Shihad, British India, Dallas Frasca, Cherie Currie, Sebastian Bach, Uriah Heep, Ace Frehley, Blues Pills, The Datsuns, The Bellrays, The Baby Animals, The Superjesus, Grinspoon and Spiderbait.

Legs Electric have played festivals such as; Sugar Loaf Festival (Perth), Bridgetown Blues Festival (Perth), Byron Bay Guitar Festival & Byron Bay Blues Festival as well as others. 

Kylie has contributed session work for WA songwriting legend Paul McCarthy and respected rocker Wayne Green, along with various other artists.

Kylie’s powerful playing style and commanding stage presence have earned her industry recognition, including endorsements from Ludwig Drums (Australia) and Humes & Berg Drum Cases (Chicago).
